Exciting Interior Design Trends for 2017
With the new year now upon us, we also ring in a new set of home décor trends that are expected to shape the way we design and interact with the spaces that we call home. This year, Vogue has asked interior designers Martyn Lawrence-Bullard, Young Huh, and Beth Diana Smith to showcase ten major home décor trends that they expect to take off in 2017.Here are some of the highlights:
Texture
Lawrence-Bullard has predicted a rise in the trend of combining different textures within a home to create an effortless contrast that will draw one’s eye to key features to be highlighted within a space. For example; utilizing a muted tone woolen throw over a black leather tufted accent chair to highlight and bring to light the darker space occupied by the chair.
Marble and Brass
Young Huh believes that the continued rise of the marble and brass combination will extend into 2017 and be featured heavily in kitchens and bathrooms.
Muted Colors
Neutral colors can provide a sense of calm within a space, a trend that Huh believes will be favored by interior designers in 2017. Among the dominant colors of this trend are whites, camel, pale greys and beige.
Geometrics
A unique way to provide a sense of thoughtful curation within a home is the usage a pattern and in 2017 we can expect to see a rise in simple geometric lines that will draw one’s eye to different highlighted features within a space.
