On Saturday, March 10th, Mary and Paige Norris were thrilled to attend the 29th Annual JDRF Dream Gala, helping raise $2.5 million in funds to support diabetes research at the Sheraton Hotel in Seattle. This year’s gala theme was “Dreams in the Casbah,” and over 900 industry leaders from across the city gathered for the black-tie event’s live and silent auctions before ending the night with dancing and entertainment.

The event was co-chaired by Dr. Gary Kaplan and Wendy Kaplan of Virginia Mason; Greg and Stacy Lill of DeLille Cellars; and Dean and Stacy Jones of Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty. Auction highlights included Dreamy, a miniature Australian Labradoodle who sold for $50,000 to a proxy bidder, and the Virginia Mason suite at CenturyLink Field with 8 parking passes and food and drink for 24 people, which sold for $60,000 not once, but twice.

“We want to extend a heartfelt thanks to our honoree, Poe Construction, and to the generous sponsors, gala patrons, donors and volunteers who came together to help JDRF this year,” reflected Paige Norris. “Together, we are working to change the world and turn Type One into Type None.”
